mccarron:

Such a great feature that most people will not even notice, iTunes 9 allows better organization of the media library.

zachholman:

The iTunes organizational hierarchy has been slowly getting more and more disorganized with each feature Apple adds. When you let iTunes manage your files, traditionally they toss everything in ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music. That works great when everything in “iTunes Music” is, you know, music. Once they’ve tossed movies, podcasts, and a slew of other features in the mix, your directory hierarchy gets really nonsensical with everything in one big ol’ pile.

iTunes 9 finally moves away from this mentality, though the feature is hidden by default. iTunes now lets you organize everything into an upper level “iTunes Media” folder structure, which then breaks out neatly into logical groupings: movies, apps, shows, and so on. You can find this in File => Library => Organize Library. You’re welcome.

This, most certainly, is a great feature in iTunes 9 I would have otherwise missed.

Sorry for the several levels of reblog but this is just too awesome not to post. For those of you who are like me and care about how your media is organized, this is a very big deal.

Therefore, following the holy fathers, we all with one accord teach men to acknowledge one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, at once complete in Godhead and complete in manhood, truly God and truly man, consisting also of a reasonable soul and body; of one substance with the Father as regards his Godhead, and at the same time of one substance with us as regards his manhood; like us in all respects, apart from sin; as regards his Godhead, begotten of the Father before the ages, but yet as regards his manhood begotten, for us men and for our salvation, of Mary the Virgin, the God-bearer; one and the same Christ, Son, Lord, Only-begotten, recognized in two natures, without confusion, without change, without division, without separation; the distinction of natures being in no way annulled by the union, but rather the characteristics of each nature being preserved and coming together to form one person and subsistence, not as parted or separated into two persons, but one and the same Son and Only-begotten God the Word, Lord Jesus Christ; even as the prophets from earliest times spoke of him, and our Lord Jesus Christ himself taught us, and the creed of the fathers has handed down to us.

Fully man. Fully God.

Photo

Its been a while since I’ve written anything substantial here. It is simply an acknowledgement of the fact.

The last month and the upcoming 4 - 6 weeks or so have had and will have a lot in store for me. I am certainly going to be kept busy. At the start of September I found myself in Estonia; a country that 3 years ago I didn’t even know existed. I was hanging out with my girlfriend, Riina, as she visited home. I met lots of new people, some who spoke English, some who didn’t. I made lots of new friends, met lots of incredible people, and explored a beautiful country.

I returned from Estonia, only to return to the busiest week at work that I think I have ever had at since I started working there. It required staying getting in to the office as early as 6am one day, and 7:30 - 8 most others. It was to launch a charities website (afghanheroes.org) that is aiming to help the families and troops out in Afghanistan. It was due to be a very big launch, all over the national media, so the pressure was on! The following two weeks at the office where also rather stressful, with a blue-chip client of ours coming to us saying they needed a site done in 3 days time. We did it, but I was somewhat stressed.

During all of this also, I was trying to sell my car. Yes, my 1972 VW Beetle just had to go. It was simply too unreliable, expensive to run, cold and drafty, and well, simply not quick enough! I was having a bit of a problem selling it though, so I decided to use my last resort, eBay. I put it up there, and ended up getting my Buy It Now price, which was well, a miracle to say the least. The buyer flew down from Scotland (about 500 miles away) to pick it up, and then drove it back. I haven’t heard from him since, so I still don’t know if he made it, but I pray that he did! The next day, I went out and bought a new car, a 1996 VW Golf GTI, 8v. Its very nice! I know I shouldn’t get too attached to an object, and after all, it still simply gets me from a to b, but it certainly makes a difference when you have things like heaters that work, electric windows, brakes that don’t have mood swings, etc etc. Western luxuries eh?!

After all of that, I also started back at university. My final year, so the big project is upon me, and ohmygosh, the project management methodology that we have to learn simply seems ridiculous. I have to create 18 documents before I even do any design or programming work. Pointless to say the least. The reading I have to do for uni this year is more than both of the previous years combined, which will be awesome, but very busy.

Work is bringing up some very exciting prospects also… There is a project that I can’t talk about at this stage, but it should be freaking awesome, and is likely to be a real blessing if it goes ahead. Although it will mean a lot more work for me over the coming months, it will be more than worth it in the long run.

I have also pretty much gotten myself, by the grace of God, out of debt! I only owe a couple of hundred pounds, which is amazing compared to the level it was. I’m on target to have paid off the entirety of my debt by Christmas, rather than just the 2/3 I was aiming for before!

Anyway, I have classes early tomorrow, and a lot more reading to do before then. If you are the praying type, I would really appreciate some prayer for my time management, energy levels, that my brain would be able to retain some of the information I’m cramming into it, and that none of my relationships would suffer due to my being so busy.

He would either be a lunatic - on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God; or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

- C. S. It will also give me a great opportunity to test out the AE-1 and some expired film!

My soul needs to travel, and I relish the butterflies in my stomach that I am starting to feel about traveling and I am trying to embrace them.

In other news, I have pretty much sold my car today! I look forward to dealing with that on my return, and then the process of buying a new car. For all of those interested, I will be looking for a VW Golf GTI Mk3. Its a good enough car that I will be able to modify it if I choose to do so, or leave it as standard. I haven’t decided yet. Western problems, eh?

So, here’s to the coming week. A week where my iPhone will stay in Airplane mode. A week where I won’t have my laptop, and will check my email once every few days rather than once every few minutes. A week of exploring new cultures, new cities, new foods, new friends, new pastures.

Tally ho!

Daniel Dixon

Daniel Dixon:
Beautiful.
