My desktop at the moment. The wonderful wallpaper is of Tallinn harbour, from Estonian photographer, Rivos.

I launch all of my applications that aren’t on the dock, via Quicksilver. My dock has everything in it that I use every day for extended periods of time.

The only things I need on the menu bar are the Wifi (I hop around quite a lot), my battery, and the time.

And I hate icons on the desktop.

I find the pictures coming back from Haiti unbelievable, haunting, harrowing, devastating, painful, awkward, and uncomfortable.

I feel like I’m stuck. On the one hand, you can txt (US) 90999 quoting ‘Haiti’ to give $10 to the Red Cross to go and do work out there, and forget about it, but sit back feeling good that you have “done your part”.

Now, I have a slight issue with charities. Not all of them. Mainly the big ones. See, I’ve always known this was true, but I recently found out some horrific figures of how a large UK charity spends its money, and basically, there is no way in hell I’m giving them money any more. But, there are lots of charities that do actually spend the money at the ground level, and when I say the money, I mean, $9.50* for every $10 you donate.

On the other hand, you can actually go and do something. What this will mean for you will probably be different to what it means to me, but for me, I am very seriously and prayerfully considering dropping everything for a couple of weeks, maxing out my credit card on a ticket, and going over there and doing something. Whatever that may be.

After all, it wouldn’t be in my strength..

On Saturday, I’m heading to London with Riina. She’s flying back to Estonia for Christmas, so we thought we would see London for a bit first.
